Check out the current (Sept/Oct) Power Cruising.

In it there is an article about an Annapolis couple that have more boat toys than anyone I have ever heard of. The article is primarily about their new 47' NZ-built planing cat, but they also own a semi-displacement cat of about the same size, a down east 38' lobster yacht, a 31' twin-OB cat for fishing, anda Herreshof 12-1/2 daysailer.

There is also a very interesting biographical sketch of Ranger Tugs owner David Livingston. The guy has covered a lot of ground!

I really admire Dave Livingston. To me he is a modest and unassuming guy working on the Ranger plug, who will climb down to tell you all about it. Take you into the office to show you the drawings for the Ranger 29 (or whatever). In fact, he has designed SO many popular boats. John Livingston is a great guy too (and an ace Wallas mechanic to boot!). Supported by Jeff Messmer and Andrew Custis, this is a company that represents all the good things that C-Dory used to be when we bought our boat(s) from the factory. (I am of course hopeful that the new ownership and management will turn things around at C-Dory, even if they don't see the value of the direct customer relationship).
