Has anybody scored an iPhone?

I stopped by the local AT&T outlet about 7:30 PM. They were sold out - but they only started with 40 phones. Still that's $20K -$24K sales in an hour and a half.

So I ordered one for delivery in 7-10 days. The least expensive plan is $60 @ month but, if you're already with AT&T, your rollover minutes come over and are still part of the plan.

Now I'm looking for a water proof, floating case for it.

I got the iphone today from FedEx - not bad - 7 days after placing the order.
Set up was slick - what else - it's an Apple.
First question, seems like Safari running on the iPhone may be abridged in some way as certain items seen on the MacBook safari page are not on the iPhone.
Case in point - the c-brat site seems fully interactive but the nerd shack forum can't be found on the iphone presentation??

That said, WOW the touch screen is over the top. :thup

Ahh grasshopper a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step.

Too bad they went with the exclusive AT&T/Cingular deal. Verizon is the only service that works where I live.

The new T-Mobile wireless hotspot/cellular concept is brilliant. If you are near a WIFI, then your cell phone uses the internet. So, your cell phone finally works well at home.

They have special wireless routers that give priority to voice traffic, but a regular wireless AP will work too.

Merging of the WIFI/cellular/Verizon network/iphone would be cool.

I got one when they first came out. Love it. Read the 200 page technical manual and spent hours setting up the mail and browser correctly. Called technical support many times and went on several i-phone forms. The long and short of it, it takes some time and energy to get the most from this phone, but the effort is well worth while. Have the 8GB and would not give it up for anything.
