Happy Thanksgiving all!

I'm sitting here surfing and watching the end of a beautiful sunrise over the Cascades. Two Thanksgiving traditions have already been taken care of - Joyce and I watched Holiday Inn this morning. She loves the old sappy movies (and so do I). Now I'm just listening to the end of Alice's Restaurant. I have to play it every year on Thanksgiving day. We're heading to my son's future in-laws later in the day for dinner. Life is good and we have much to be thankful for.

Remember - you can get anything you want, at Alice's restaurant ('cepting Alice). Take care all and have a great turkey day!

I agree, much to be thankful for. Tom & Susan are coming up from Marysville and we have 7 other guests coming to our house for dinner. Nothing better than a big gathering over Turkey.

We have had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I have been feeling guilty about not getting on here last night, or yesterday morning and putting a "Happy Thanksgiving message to all, but had not made it happen and then we are on the road for 8 hours and and no internet available over night, and then up to my brother-in-laws in a smaller than small town, then 2 miles out in the country beyond that. No cell service and slower than 14 year itch dialup internet. Pataha, WA. and no the GPS won't probably find it. (and no hope for Google earth, at least not from this hookup.)

Anyway, Grandpa provided some real predinner excitement, including a passing out spell, a fall off the steps, and serious incident amnesia, with a confusional arousing, reminiscant of a stroke evidence. This all resulted in a ride to the hospital arriving precisely at noon on Thanksgiving day, for a thorough checkout. Long story short, he will be OK, Just happened to double up on a blood pressure medicine and it really worked. All Better now, dinner is over, the dishes are cleaned. Now we sit and enjoy listening to his tales of Navy days, and are so Thankful that he is still here with us, that al are safe and that He said the table grace again this year for Thanksgiving dinner, (and it was only a hour or so late.)

Our wish are that you all have a super safe, saticfying and thankful Thanksgiving.

Hope to be back in internet civilization by Monday.

FWIW: Alice is now residing here on the tip of Cape Cod.

For anyone too young to remember or unfamiliar with the song Alice's Restaurant, which involves the Thanksgiving Day Massacree, (and more importantly, the anti-war movement of the middle 60's) here are the lyrics:

Alice's Restaurant

Pretty funny, pretty ironic, pretty serious, too!
