Happy Birthday, Jon

Thanks for the B-Day wishes. Got the wood stove going 24/7 and just laying low. Brrrrr is right.
C-Lou and I will be at the boat show, so will see you then.

Jon

This is interesting. I remember reading this thread some time ago, but yet all the post dates are today except for two that will not be posted until tomorrow. Must have something to do with computers.

HBD, Jon!

Mike. you had me confused for a moment........in my business, "HBD" stands for "Has Been Drinking". (Not Happy Birthday)........of course my translation for HBD may be correct as well.

At any rate, Happy 51st Birthday Jon and you can have a drink anyhow. :beer :beer :beer

Dave, I always say if the acronym fits....

Now at the office where C-Lou used to work, it had a different meaning altogether.

Mike, speaking of fitting and not fitting, how the %#@** do you get your steering cable rod back thru the tilt tube. Goodness sakes alive, I just about blew a vein in my neck from pushing on that thing.

It's like a bad version of American Chopper around the shop today. Nothing is going together right, (Hydraulic Steering??? Les:idea ) I got the rod all the way back in to the port side of the tilt tube and she wont go any more.

Oh yeah, and get this. The Direct T.V. dude comes over for about the tenth time this year, This time thinking he's going to do an upgrade on our system. First thing he does is walk into my shop (where I'm losing patience by the second) with a 2 inch dia., 6 foot long galvanized pipe. I look over at him while straining with this damn steering cable and he says to me "I need to put a bend in this pipe, I'll just stick it in your boat trailer and reef down on it". Now mind you, the C-Dory is sitting on the trailer and it's made of fiberglass as you know. After getting within about 2 feet of the boat with his pipe, the Ol' Man from American Chopper showed up. Now I'm a very mellow person, but where in the heck do they hire these repair men from.

Anyhow, I had a great day on my Birthday. Glad I didn't have this day, yesterday.

Oh yeah, no upgrade either!

Jon

Pipe bender?

Just tell him to put it down across a rut in the road and drive over it with his truck! (Direct approach) KISS, KISS!

Joe.

Geez, Jon, I always just shove it on through. (Sounds like a Sneaks answer, doesn't it?) I guess I don't know how far in it's going or what it is hanging up on. Did you crank the wheel after getting it started and see if the cable end extends? If it comes through, hook the thing up and see if you can pull the rest in with the wheel. Really reef on it until it breaks. Then you can get the hydraulic setup.
