Halibutting next weekend?

Anyone going halibutting out of Newport next weekend? Since they're reportedly so close in, we might give it a whirl....hope I don't bust a stitch! ar ar ar :lol:
 
I want to in a bad way. I might be able to get friday off but have weekend obligations. Remember they increased the limit to TWO halibut on "all depth" day's so it's definately worth the effort.

and FINALLY get to meet you?!!? That'd be great...let us know! We're going over Friday after work and planning to spend the weekend on the boat...B dock.
 
Well wouldn't you know it... my plans fell apart.
I suppose that is how it goes when your employer can't tell you if you have a job next week.
I swear i wouldn't work if i didn't need the check.
sooner or later it is always later.
I hope you guys take some pictures for those of us forced on the beach.
 
If the weather holds you will see some terrific halibut action right now. The guys I work with were out 23 miles off of depot bay last weekend and limited in short order. They said there were also tuna jumping all around the boat, but the halibut kept them so busy they didn't bother with the tuna. I would go out too but if sue got out that far and lost sight of land she would freak. She is too good a fishing partner to lose that way.
 
Got our 6 fish limit in short order. Took far longer to get to them than it did to get em in the boat.
I'll tell the tale later... tired... I hope everyone did as well.
