Made two runs out to the chicken ranch last weekend. Ocean was pretty good both days we ran 15 yo 17 mph on the way out, enough chop that you had to keep a hand on the throttle and watch the wave sets pretty close at that speed.
Outbound is against the current and swell, three people, 100 gal gas, 12 gal water, full load of fishing equipment and supplies. Averaged close to 2.5 mpg.
Trip home was smoother and ran at 25 mph 4000 RPM 3 plus mpg, hit a smooth enough section to make 32 mph for a moment.
Used 30 gal of gas both days logging little over 80 mile for each trip so average was close to 2.7 mpg.
At idle 4mph 12 mpg
6 mph 6 mpg plus
Fishing was bad so had way too much time to check my mileage numbers at low speed between drifts
What I like
After the howl of the Yamaha the e-tec is a treat very comfortable sound level even with the cabin door open
200 hp feels about perfect plenty of power easy 25 mph cruise with load and don't appear to be giving up much milage for the extra power.
Warm or cold takes about a half second of cranking to start
What I don't like
Low speed maneuverability is not as good, the boat seems to want too move sideways as opposed to turning until you give additional throttle maybe prop walk?
Backing up sucks really need to be aggressive with the throttle
Other than that I could not be happier
