I have a garmin 182c gps and I am looking for a card for north of Norfolk, Va. Does anyone have one I could buy? I cannot find one one the internet and I need it for a trip I am planning.
Thanks. Cliff

Just in case it helps, it looks like your Garmin takes the same "bluechart datacards" that my 2006c does. As you probably know, they are no longer available new from Garmin :(

If you don't find one through a C-Brat, the best places I've found to buy them are either e-Bay or Craigslist. They are usually a bit less expensive on Craigslist, but there are more available on e-Bay. I did start a thread trying to develop a card exchange, but it didn't really gather much steam (but maybe that will change!). If you want to read more (it has come up a few times recently), you could probably search under my name plus datacard or 2006c.

I also have a 182c. It is nice chartplotter but since garmin no longer supports the old style bluechart/mapsource chips, finding chips is really hit or miss. I have been looking for the US inland lake chip on Craigslist and Ebay thinking sooner of later one might show up. The other way to go is buy charts from Garmin on DVDs and try to load them onto blank data cards with a USB data card programmer. (Close to $300 before you even know if it will work).

Adding GPS to my laptop (or iPad) and using OpenCPN is looking better all the time. Does anyone know if garmin charts sold on DVDs are vector or raster formats that can be read on a laptop or are the coded for only garmin products?
Jim
