Government Shutdown and GPS

I went out on the boat this past Sunday to do some fishing and crabbing and my Northstar GPS/Chartplotter couldn't get a GPS fix. Otherwise it was running normally. I played with it on and off during the day and had no luck getting it to lock in. Then last night I realized that it may be related to the government shutdown and the fact that some of the federally controlled satellites may not be operating.

Curious if anyone else has experienced this??

The GPS constellation is an extremely essential service and would not be shut down for the petty reason of a government political impasse.
