After several people bumped their heads on the shelf above the front windows, I decided to eliminate it and re-locate the VHF radio and eliminate the CB radio. I think it's an improvement, and reduces the tunnel effect of having to duck down to look forward. Really opens up the forward area of the cabin, spatially. I did add a fan in the same area, which helps a lot when the windows are foggy. Also put a little teak bowsprit on to move the anchor forward and protect the fiberglass when anchoring. It looks so "salty". We are leasing a slip at Squalicum Harbor for the summer now, so had had the bottom epoxied and painted with anti fouling paint at Bitter End Boatworks, and had a mooring cover made by Oyster Creek Canvas, both in Bellingham, which turned out beautiful. I don't know how to add pictures to this post but will put some up in our album.

Teak Bowsprit, How much farther north is the anchor now? Looks nice. Looks like you are enjoying your boat.

It shifted anchor forward 3" but also raised it 1-1/2" so the point of the anchor is now just under 2" from the fiberglass. Before it was less than 1/2". I put a photo in my gallery with the anchor installed.

Thanks for the answer. It looks good.

I removed mine last weekend, and instead of buying new shorter bolts to support the exterior cabin top rails, (because of the removal of the 3/4 inch thick shelf), I made a 3/4 thick spacer with hooks for two coffee cups.
