Took the cd 19 from the mountains down to the Georgia coast. First 4 day stop was Cooked River state park a really nice park for boaters. Launched with our rv and went up to Jekyll Island for fuel and lunch and bird watching. next day out to Cumberland Island for a walk along he beach and to let the dogs romp.

Then down to St Mary's for Greek food. On the way down we were met by navy gun boat on watch as a sub came in. Big iron which may get used someday.

Next park was Ft mcAllister south of Savannah. An even better park for boaters with a big sheltered floating dock for overnight tie up. We spent a whole day going up and back to Savannah where we tied up at a free hotel dock and walked around and ate sea food. Great weather for a CD because we could run at a smooth 20 mph get on down the icw.

Pulled the boat expecting gale force 40 plus winds. Will get out Sunday and go south . We will then have seen the coast of Georgia complete.

We like the Georgia ICW. Good anchorages and a lot of birds. If you are coming south, come to Marathon, Fl. We'll be here for six months so stop in and say HI. Don't come before Thursday of this week because it's BLOWING.

Just camped a couple weeks ago at crooked river, what ramp did you use the one closest to state park? Fairly swift current at ramp, sounds like a good trip.

In August I launched from Holly Bluff Marina thats in the middle of the St Johns R and took my 16 cruiser to Savannah and back, 800 miles. It was my first real trip on the boat, I spent two weeks.
I got my moneys worth out of Sea Tow, I spun my prop out on the first day. I was towed back to Astor it was a 9hr tow mainly at night. The charge that I did not have to pay was $2900 the year before was a $600 tow for a fuel line problem. I have really gotten my moneys worth from them. We found my problem that morning and I had a spare prop and the tools so I was back on my way.
I visited the surrounding delta area in Savannah and it was great. I visited Daufuskie Island, Its between Savannah and Hilton Head. Despite it being Hot as Hell summer I just opened my sleeping bag in the V bearth and slept naked with a 12volt fan running I was surprised how comfortable I was. Jekyll Harbor Marina was great, they had all the stuff, Laundry resturant and a pool, in that hot weather that pool was a religous experience.
