Generator Grief

The third installment of my Super Sunday Comedy of Errors. After my Outboard Control Box screamed at me warning of an overheat, I worried that somehow I might have a VRO problem. Its incorporated into the overall alarm system. So I added a pint of oil to my 6 gallon auxilliary tank and ran the 70 off of it until I could see my VRO oil tank level lowered. The 6 isn't part of my outboard fuel supply anymore(normally). I use it to refill my Yamaha 1000 generator. Well, long story short, the Yammy didn't like it. It ran rough and then I couldn't get it to light up when I needed to run my microwave oven. Provisioned for a week on the water I aborted the mission. No generator means no hot coffee, no hot meals, and no recharging batteries. Boy, have I become dependent on that thing. A word to the wise, save the premix for the outboards and run the genny on straight gas only.

Good news! I drained the tank and refilled with fresh Chevron. New spark plug too. Old one was oil fouled. First pull and off to the races. For other Yammy 1000 users. NGK CR6HSB gapped to .028. This is the smaller plug and needs a 5/8" dia. long socket, a "wobbler",and a short extension.
