I have mild to heavy oxidation on my transom. I'm looking for a compound rub, polishing stuff, that can be purchased locally, maybe AutoZone, Walmart or someplace like that. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
 
Try 3M Marine Restorer & Wax. It says right on the front of the bottle "For Heavily Oxidized Finishes" It works.
 
Ive used the 3M stuff Dotnmarty mentioned for years. It works like magic. Ive tried other products but never had the same results as 3M.

The shine will not last very long, so I follow up with Collinite boat wax. It stays shiny and protected for a full season at least this way.

Alot of work but its worth it, I think.
 
awesome, thanks for info, i went on line to find where to purchase this but couldn't find a walk in store to make the purchase, any ideas. will be in nashville tn tomorrow and would like to buy.
 
Our boat wansnt too oxidized so we use the slightly less abrasive 3M Cleaner and wax. Same bottle just a little less rubbing compound
 
i found a west marine store about 20 miles from our marina. so i will pick up a bottle tomorrow. cost is important but getting this product in my hands tomorrow is priceless! thanks for the wonderful assistance. will post results soon.
