Friday Harbor gathering

My wife Betsy and I attended a c-dory rendezvous at Blakely Is. in 2003 and were stuck in Eugene Or working until now. We are now retired and living in Anacortes and can't wait to attend the gathering in Friday Harbor.

Greetings Tim,

Glad to see you are planning on coming to Friday Harbor. It is a great get together, (CBGT), with lots of neat boats, great people and fun boating. You have probably already seen the whole Friday Harbor thread, but if not, here is a link:

There is a place to sign up, (sorry, I should have checked to see if you had done that already but I didn't think to do it before I started this), and you can find it on the button bar, home page, top almost center. Or below the random C-Dory picture there is a start of the discussion that you can click in and it will take you to the discussion.

Looking forward to meeting you there.

Craig & Julie Davis on Salty,

I am looking forward to meeting you. Salty was one of my boats for the last couple of years when it was available for charter through Anacortes Yacht Charters. I have been one of the Fleet Captains there. So I have been on your boat many times.

Craig is in Anacortes this week and I am getting daily reports about his travels. No fair, I am stuck at home minding the ranch. Livestock and all. We are both returning May 16th to attend the Friday Harbour Gathering. I will be hoping for good weather and calm water because I am a big chicken!
It will be great to meet up with you to hear stories of about our boat. We were so lucky to find it last year. Hope to get the Coast Guard inspection done while there too. Are you the person that does that?
I still don't think it's fair that Craig is having all the fun...he had lunch yesterday on James Island.

Hi Julie, Willie and I plan to be arriving in Anacortes around the 15th of May. So it will be nice to see you and Craig again.

Actually I saw Salty on Saturday when I was out on Burrows Bay doing some CG AUX qualification stuff for a new coxswain. He was heading south out from Skyline Marina.
Yes I and Barry on C-Cakes will be doing VEs at FH. See you there.

Oh Yeah the FH weekend is getting closer and we are really looking forward to it. It will be good to see Willie's Tug again. This time the beer and wine is on us! Good to know there are others leaving from Cap Sante too. We may need a buddy boat on our way to FH. It will be our first big outing!
See you all there!

I hope to have the susan e in the water on friday around noon. I will give a shout out on 16 and 68 on the vhf as we head out. Anyone in the area that wants to tag along is welcome to. Dont be afraid to call on 16 or 68 for me or just for any c-brat.

We seem to have a lot of newbes coming this year that are worried about crossin to the islands and I understand about worrying about the unknown. After you do it the first time you will wander what all the worry was about in the first place. Its really pretty easy.

I'm thinking we'll be leaving from Cap Sante as well. Don't know what time yet. We could pair up but it would be like the blind leading the blind :smiled

Tom Said,
"Its really pretty easy."

Keep the wet side down, the white side up, pointy end in front and the blender in the back. There you go, slicker than grease. And the best part, it is fun. Enjoy, there's lots of other folks who did it the first time too, and some of 'em even got it right. We are all in this together, and we are willing to help. :hug :thup :thup :hug2

We will be leaving fairly early Friday morning from La Conner where we will spend Thursday night and will have our friends in a MacGregor sailboat with us so the speed will be about 10 Kt . Anyone wishing to buddy up just give us a yell on #68 or set off all the bells on MMSI #367355140. For those who don't know us we are the steroidally challenged big white CD :-)
