Football Playoff @ Tacoma Dome

Hey, any Brats want to join me and Junior Buckwheat's proud papa for the La Center-Meridian 2A semi-final football game Saturday?

I think it starts at 1 or 2 p.m., and I hear it's dry and warm in there. Underdog La Center will have their hands full, as top ranked Meridian is 13-0. My money's on the kids from Vancouver.

I might add that LaCenter is the only team in the playoffs with an officially licensed, sanctioned, C-brat player.
We'll be found in the visiting team/LC section and I'll keep a sharp eye out for you Brock.

I MIGHT have done this just to support B~C and Buckwheat, but alas, we will be in or near San Ramon, CA (a few short miles away from Da Nag's home in Pleasant Hill, as I understand it) visiting our son Barrett and his main squeeze and her parents...Austin and Barrett are actually the same person, although Barrett claims to be 25, and Austin denies he is a mere clone...

Hey, that'll be fun. I'll be there before 1 p.m. and find you in the stands.

Durn, I was hoping you'd make it and bring one of those small kegs :)....be carefull in CA, there's some strange people down there :)

Best of luck to go with the talent, Tyler (Jr. BW) and team. I read the blurb in the Oregonian today, and even though it was a reporter doing the talking, those Meridian boys sound a might cocky. Prime for getting lowered a notch or two.

I'm rooting for you, and if I thought it was appropriate to bet on a school game, I would. (Man, you'd think CM would learn from them other WA fellers).

Thanks Mike, I think the other guys are due for a loss and they may get it if the kids play their best game. Win, lose or draw, all I ever hope for is that the kids play well, have fun, don't get hurt and the refs are fair. They're a motivated bunch, as long as they keep playing Fball, they don't have to practice Bball (Bball coach runs um to death)
The game starts at 1:00 and will be cybercast at www.cybersportsusa.com/live_games.asp

Well sir, I clicked on the webcast link and found no mention of the big game today. Nor can I find any news of it on the WWW. Somebody needs to file a report as soon as they hear, please. I got a good feeling about this.

See, if CM was a nerd like PatA, he would have one of them PDA's with him and a satellite link up to keep us informed.

Well, damn. Two stupid points. Meridian outscored their previous two opponents 100-14, but barely squeaked by Jr. BW and crew. That must have been quite a game, and I can't wait to hear the recap.

well sir...we ran in the Catdude...and watched an edge of the seat, exciting game..Jr Buckwheat did a real good job of helping to shutt things down in the first half..at the half LC 20 du udder guys 7. Things where looking good untill the 4th quarter, LC up by 6 and driving the ball and running down the clock when the turn over gremlin hit....bla...bla...bla....Lc now down by 8 with the clock ticking down...LC SCORES and goes for the 2 point conversion, no good :( 1:33 left, LC kicks an onside kick and recovers it on about the 45 :) but they just couldn't get it in the end zone for the win :(...........the cheaters started doubling up on Jr B.W. in the second half.
next year by golly
sorry about the link, I thought they where going to do the game

Take two. Where was I? I hate that when I've just concocted the most fabulous prose since Shakespear, then my big bi-color Buster walks across the keyboard. He's a 14 pounder with big feet, you'll recall, and employs an uncanny ability to hit the precise keys to vaporize my brilliance.

Now back to the game. What a hell of a contest! Seated between an intense, football savvy mom with sharp elbows, and a dad who kept me informed about Wildcat intricacies, this Brat saw the best game of the year. And that even includes my mighty UW Puppies.
Up 20-7 at halftime, fans believed the #13 upstarts from down by the river might surge to a major upset over undefeated, #1 ranked Meridian.
A second half rally by Meridian, near Bellingham, put them in the driver's seat, and forced La Center to play catch up. A fumble recovery for a Meridian touchdown late in the third quarter, and a stuffed two point La Center conversion attempt with under two minutes left in the game, helped frame a 28-26 Meridian win.
No matter. Tyler and the guys played a marvelous game, one they'll be proud of for the rest of their lives.
