Keys Winter Weather Patterns,
During the winter the weather cycles through a series of northerlies, each lasting a few days. Each cycle begins with a light southerly breeze with fair weather. The wind begins slowly shifting to the northwest increasing in intensity, often blowing s high as 40 mph. The wind continues to shift to the northeast losing intensity as it clocks around to the east then southeast as the wind moves through the southern quadrant the wind drops to a slight breeze. The light winds and fair weather return :D until the wind starts clocking again to the northwest and the cycle begins again. This was taken from a Guide Book Managing the Waterway Biscayne Bay to the Dry Tortugas. Good stuff to be aware of.

Hi,
The City Marina at Garrison Bight in Key West charges 1.90 per foot for transient docking with shore power, mooring balls are 17 dollars per night or 278 per month. They have parking for your rig $6.00 per day and a boat ramp $6.00 both of which are free if you are staying there. Coin operated laundry and bathrooms with showers Here is a link http://www.keywestcity.com/department/d ... ?fDD=13-78
The cruising books say the best time to cruise the Keys is between March and May. :smiled

For those thinking of taking a Tom Cat to the Keys, be aware that only a few launch ramps in the Keys are steep enough to float a Tom Cat off the trailer.
