Fishtales Decommissioning

Received word today (not from the factory) that my boat is on a truck and will be in Channel Islands on Sunday.
You would think that Scot and Company would be burning the phone lines down calling me with this news.
I'll have to see it to believe it.

Roger

Sounds like an I-5 C-Dory watch alert would be in order. Sure hope for a ton of sightings.

I'm guessing we will get notification upon C-Hawk arrival?

Great news Roger. Mike of Sealife...a question: Where in Woodland Hills do you live. I grew up on Dolarosa St. just East of Shoup and North of the freeway. Or South and East.

Word is true- the boat arrived at Catalina Yacht Anchorage this morning- 5/4/8.

Now to transfer everything over from Fishtales to C-Hawk, install the engines and seatrial in 2 weeks.

I took the cushions over and set them in C-Hawk.
The factory did a fairly good job matching the original wood interier dimensions without having the boat there to copy from. Will need to tweek a couple of the cushions to make the fit- but nothing major.

They did a good job on the wood cabinets- even used stainless l-brackets

The v-berth has three seperate storage chambers under the cushion.

The lazerette covers are a great improvement over the ones normally used.

Will need to find a different helm seat--- they installed the shore-power breakers behind the seat.

Roger

Congratulations. Roger!

The wait is over, finally!

Enjoy rigging your new boat!

Keep us informed as to how it goes.

We spent the weekend along the Central Cal coast at Plaskett Creek State Park. We were going to dive at Jade Cove, but there was a 8-10 foot swell coming through. No cell phone service, so we did'nt get the message until we were down around San Simeon.

Rich Reynolds delivered the boat and left before we could get there.

Gee....in light of all your kind comments about them within a public forum, it's shocking they didn't call you.

Kudos to C-Dory for backing up their fine boats.

Roger and PJ,
Congratulations, and many happy hours to you. Sure glad for you. Unbelievable that Rich would go all that way and not let you know he was coming. Sorry you missed getting to see him, but sure glad you have your boat. Hummm, two weeks, yep you could still make it up to Friday Harbor for the big one :)

What a relief you have your boat! I know all too well how much work will be required to get her back to "usage" form with all the installs so good luck with that.

C-Dory earned more revenue in standing behind their product than they spent in replacing this boat.

Roger-

Just a question out of curiousity:

Is C-Dory coming back to get the faulty hull and the trailer it was shipped down on, or are they going to have the hull taken care of locally down there and leave the trailer to a dealer?

I'm sure they don't want someone trying to rebuild it, etc.

Maybe you could be the only C-Brat in the world with a C-Dory for a planter box in your front yard? Might look a bit big, but if you lived on a beachfront and had it half buried in the sand?

How about using it as a play station for your grandkids or a doghouse for that new pup?

Another thought Roger. Now that you've got C-Hawk, why not start a new thread entitled "C-Hawk Commissioning"? Put the bad thoughts behind, they'll always be there for folks to read but not every time they bring up happy stuff about your new boat! I'm sure you'd like that too.

Glad you've got her, keep us cut in!

Charlie

Charlie- It's eerie how you could read my mind from across the continent

Joe- After Fishtales has been stripped of all electronics, the hull will be returned back to the facctory so they can investigate what went wrong.----
Although it would be nice to have a good planter in the front yard, just to mess with the City 8)

Roger, glad this part is over, and thanks for starting the new thread "C-Hawk Commisioning" Congrats, Will be following there.
