Fiberglass cut?

Hi all, I need some tips and what to use to successfully make a clean, sparking cut though fiberglass. Things like bits, glue, and techniques would be much appreciated.
I know most of you guys could do them cuts while in your sleep but my problem would mostly be how to conceal the cut from water to enter and "contaminate" the insides, thanks again.

What are you planning to cut: drilled holes, sawed holes, size, location, etc. and for what purpose (bolts, screws, instrument mounts, etc.? Give us a little idea what you're up to.

For drilling holes either use a hole saw or a forstner bit. The forstner bit has a cutting edge on the outer edge of the hole and a centering pin. Between the centering pin and the outer edge it will have 1 or 2 cutting blades. The advantage of the forstner bit is the cutting edge will give a nice clean cut. I think they will usually give a better hole than a hole saw will.

If you are using a saw you can often clamp a sacraficial piece of plywood to the part you are going to cut on the gelcoat side. This will help prevent chipping.
