EZ Loader TC255 Trailer Recall?

Had my trailer at my usual repair shop yesterday to get the brakes bled after replacing the backup solenoid and was told that the taillights no longer functioned. The repair guy said he'd had lots of EZ loaders with this problem and that there was a recall and they were being fixed or replaced under warranty.

Anyone heard of this? Couldn't find anything on the EZ Loader website, although there were some other recalls.

No one open at the factory yet, thought I'd ask the audience!

Charlie,

I had mine fail last summer. I contacted the EZ Loader factory via email from the web site. The factory in Spokane WA. sent me a replacement pair of tail lights. I took a few weeks for the lights to show up. Easy replacement.

Happy ending! Just spoke with EZ Loader in Spokane and they said that even though it was out of warranty (2 years overall but electrical stuff is 1 year) they'd send me a new set since they have been having so many problems with these "sealed" LED tail lights! Great service after the sale!

Hi Charlie,
Do you happen to know what year/serial numbers are part of the recall? I will be looking over my Tomcat trailer (and everything else) hopefully next Saturday.

Thanks

Those leaky taillights aren't only on the C-255 trailers. The 2005 EZ Loader trailer we got with Journey On lost a taillight, and the C-Dory factory sent us a couple of replacements.

The key is to seal all seams with silicone seal before you put the new one on. Did that 3 years ago and haven't had a problem since.

Matt, there was NO recall. The repair guy was wrong but the Factory (EZ Loader) will fix any problems you have in a reasonable amount of time..

yes, the EZ Loader folks are facilitating a recall/replacement of the LED lights on their trailers. You will need to have serial number when you call them. It took a couple of days, but I received replacement lights from the manufacturer in Iowa (?).

Be carefull not to overt ighten the nuts when you replace the lights. I think that is what is cracking the case and allowing water intrusion.

Got my new lights today. These are sealed units and should solve the problem. Thanks EZ Loader! Took all of 10 minutes to install.
 :thup
