Does anyone have any positive experience and/or horror stories regarding Evinrude E-Tec 150HP motors specifically the 2008 model year motors? Thanks in advance for your help.
Well since no one has chimed in yet, you might try the search box in upper left...The first thread I found was Tom Little's 2008 Tom Cat with twin 150 E-tecs, he seems to report some very respectable performance numbers. The 2006 E-tec 90 that I owned for about 6 years was a great performer and mostly trouble-free. Really liked it for its light weight, and for a 2 stroke it was really quiet. Only complaint is not as smooth as a 4-stroke when slow-cruising around 2000 rpm. But the 3-yr service interval was nice!
