We are hoping to launch from Everett Thursday morning and go over to Langley to meet my sister and brother-in-law for a few days of cruising. Has anyone left the tow rig at Port of Everett? Is is fairly secure? What exit would I take from I-5 going north to get to the launch? It looks like a short run over to Langley, anyone take that cruise? Any information would be appreciated. Hi Big Mac, Everett is my favorite salt-water ramp. I've never had a problem leaving my tow rig there. Still, I recommend emptying it of everything including your registration/insurance(they'll learn where you live and know you're not home) , coins from your ashtray(and your ashtray too), and even your trash. The tweakers will strike in hopes of retrieving personal data such as bank deposit receipts and other financial data(don't ask how I know this). My Dodge Ramcharger is now missing its rear seat, passenger seat, center console, glove box, ash tray, and trash box(I removed it all). The only things left are the drivers seat, the steering wheel, and my spare tire. Everett is cool. Regularily patrolled and offering a fresh-water rinse too. Langley is a nice little cruise. I seem to recall that the marina is small and hidden behind a breakwater. There may have been a CBGT there. If so others will chime in.

Likewise, the Everett Launch is my favorite salt water launch. It has numerous designated launch ramps and numerous designated retrieval ramps. Traveling North on I-5 take the Marine View Drive exit. (It is the next exit after the Hwy 2 exit). Follow Marine View Drive North and it will take you around to the water front. Take a right on 10th Street (Between Performance Marine and Dunlops Industrial Supply). It is marked as Marine Park and Boat Launch / Jetty Island Ferry. Because of construction for the expanded marina facilities the "fresh water washdown hose bib" is no longer there. The facility is well patrolled by Everett Police Dept. and the Port of Everett Security. I have never heard of a security problem there, however the post above shares good advice to all of us!
The cruise over to Langley is an easy 30 to 45 minute cruise. The marina in Langley just recently began charging a $5 fee for dockage while you are there during the day. (Naturally, they have an overnight charge and have shorepower capability).
We have been taking several groups of friends over there recently for a quick cruise and "walk about" town. (We cruised over there Tues. evening, Wed. evening and are going over there again on Sun. afternoon). Some of our friends have never been there even though they live in Arlington.
(Yes, we have had a number of C-Brat gatherings there.....in fact, the first "recorded" gathering in Wa. State was at Langley.) :smilep

Big Mac – if you plan on doing any cruising while in the Langley area, the town of Coupeville is a nice waterfront town to visit. It is about 22 miles north of Langley, just south of Oak Harbor. Then there is the town of La Conner (on the Swinomish Chanel) 20 miles northeast of Coupeville. It is another waterfront town. Both are interesting towns worth visiting. If you go to La Conner make sure you have a chart of the area and stay in the channel. I know someone that went to the Bellingham CBGT and got stuck in the mud flats on an outgoing tide and a strong inland wind just south of Goat Island. It took me close to an hour to get back in deep enough water to use the outboard.
 
Hello Dave, thanks for the post, we plan on going to Coupville, my sister and brother-in-law are familiar with the area. They live in Hansville and have a 32 foot Golden Star Trawler. They are retired and spend a lot of time cruising. We met them at Coronet Bay last fall and cruised to La Conner. We saw a boat stuck on the mud flats you are talking about. I have my sounder set for 10 feet depth alarm and pay close attention to the bottom. Were looking forward to the trip. I will post our adventure when we return. Big Mac
 
When you go to Coupeville you might consider "Toby's" as the place to eat. Guinness on tap, Penn Cove Mussels...from right down the cove..great burgers, funky place and you can walk there from the dock, turn left at the foot of the dock and go about 100 yards. If you are coming down from the Cornet Bay direction watch the flats off the end of the Swinomish channel to the Eastand Dugwalla bay to the West. Thats where I learned about things like depth alarms :)

My wife and I will be 'boaterhoming' Wednesday night at the Everett Ramp. We plan to launch around daybreak on Thursday (low tide, but shouldn't be a problem) and make the run north between Camano & Whidbey Islands, through the Swinomish Channel, around the corner and out to the San Juans. We'll be staying at Blakely Marina Thursday night, Mitchell Bay Friday night, and Lopez Islander Saturday night.

We'll probably be gone by the time you get there on Thursday, but we'll keep a watch for you and other C-Brats out on the water. We dual watch VHF 16/68.

Don't know about this getting up at fist sparrowfart business but Kingfisher will be in the Saratoga / Skagit area from about 0830 doing a marine bird survey for MRC and Whidbey Audubon. So watch out for a Cabernet (what else) 22 proceeding erratically and making frequent stops.

Jeez! My 22 always goes erratically and makes frequent stops. Patti says it my driving. I say its a carefully thought out jellyfish avoidance plan :lol: :lol:

I am having enough trouble avoiding all those nets out there !!
Been hoping to hook up with y'all again but mix of work and boats at the moment is crazy.
