everett launch

You have lost me in the thread. Which launch are the money machines connected to?
I can see that and now as I read Marty's post I wonder if I started the confusion. :? Maybe he WAS refering to Bellingham? The info I posted was for EVERETT (10 Ave) ramps.

I know Bellingham (Squalicom) was $5 launch & parking w/ no extra charge for parking as of last yr. I remember they had something about notifying the office if you were gonna be gone for a specific amount of time, but how long I don't know.

No problem. Straight in my mind now. For those of us retired or near retired it looks like Bellingham will be best for now. Or else buy the yearly pass and launch at Cornet Bay.

I was talking about Everett, in response to the thread's title "Everett Launch". For the past few years we rented a slip at Everett and therefore got a marina window sticker which allowed us to park at the ramp without payment. Even at that, we only used the ramp for one day at the beginning and end of our slip rental time. I'm just curious about the procedure for paying for a more than one day trailer/tow vehicle parking. Hope we will again get the chance to do it.

Actually, I find the directions for the amount of money to pay on the Everett machine rather confusing. During the week with my "old geezer" sticker on my windshield I don't have to worry about paying for the launch or nights' stay as long as I don't overlap into the weekend. However, figuring out how much to pay otherwise is confusing when I try to combine it with my "old geezer" sticker. I don't think the machine takes credit cards yet....but since I'm a "cash and carry" kinda guy, I don't pay much attention to that.
To me that is another plus for Bellingham..$5.00 launch and park for ever. Yes, you should check in at the marina office in Bellingham if you are going to park for greater that (I Think) three days. (I'm obviously unsure of the number of days). Unfortunately the marina office is not located near the launch ramp but up the road towards the yacht club. A bit inconvenient, but manageable.
As Tom said, one of our C-Brats did have their trailer stolen by scumbags one summer, but other C-Brats have parked in Bellingham for very extended periods of time (ie: a month or more) without problem. On several occasions we've parked there for over a week.

(Now on another somewhat related subject, try to park on the street in downtown Seattle......for those of us that attempt to not use their credit cards, I need a two ton truck to carry enough quarters to pay for parking..... ) (Hell, one hour of parking is more than the cost of a gallon of gas!).

Marty, since like me you are old enough to qualify for the "old geezer" sticker, you can obtain one and launch and park for free during the week.

Dave, I went to the Port of Everett website but could not find an application for the old geezer sticker -- can you point me toward same?

Thanks,
Warren

Senior and Disabled Passes: Qualifying seniors and those with disabilities will receive a free boat launch pass which is valid Monday through Friday year-round. When launching on Friday from May to September, individuals will need to pay the $3 parking fee. The parking passes are available at the South Marina Office.

Warren, that is pretty darn good. Mark gave you the answer to your question in 9 minutes from the time of your posting. Thanks Mark!

Just a further comment about the "old geezer" permit. When you come into the office they asked to see my drivers license. I'm unsure it that was only to see my birthdate to be certain that I really am an old geezer, or if there is some type of residency requirement. However, since it is the Port of Everett and I'm not an Everett citizen but a Snohomish County resident, I don't know if those are determining factors.

(Then again maybe the cute girl at the counter was considering asking me out on a date  . When she saw my birthdate on the drivers license she must have decided she'd probably give me a heart attack  if she went out with me. Since she hasn't called me yet I'm guessing I qualified as a true old geezer..... )
