Hi to all,

Pat and I are on the Erie at the flight of 5 in Waterford, NY. We trailered to Sylvan Beach last Friday. We came down the Flight yesterday in only one hour nd ten minutes, all locks just waiting for us. Such a big deal for a 22 foot boat.

Waterford is a wonderful stop a good visitors center and many places to eat within walking distance. Cheap too, 1st two nights free then $10.00 per night with water, elect. and showers.

Friday we will start north toward Lake Champlain. We traveled with Dori-C for a day on the Erie. Now they have headed home to Conn.

Will try to keep you posted.

Pat and Fred,

I wish I was with you. The time we spent together a few years ago on the Erie Canal were great times. Do enjoy it.

Last year we came down the flight in a rain storm. Waterford was filled up with boats so we moored across the Hudson in part of Troy so we never got a chance to enjoy Waterford. Troy is not the best place to stop.

My plans are to spend the month of September some time in the future on the Erie Canal. Champlain Canal and Lake and do some real exploring. It is a great cruising area, and inexpensive. Also the cities are all very interesting from an Historical view.

You three enjoy yourselves.

Fred

Hi to all,

Pat and I are now in Newark,NY. This is one of our favorite canal stops. The home of the famous Newark Diner, our stop for breakfast tomorrow. We will be in Fairport, NY Monday and then head west. Any Brats that would like to meet us just call my cell 717-870-8666

If the site administrators could please list our boat as for sale we would appreciate it.

Fred & Pat,

Just wanted to say hello! Michelle and stopped and talked with you in Fairport for a little while. It was a pleasure to see/meet another friendly face from the site.

Enjoy the rest of your trip!

Fred and Pat --
A few years ago we cruised the canal with you and had such a delightful time. We are cruising with you now, in spirit. Bon voyage, friends.

And, Drew, now we now why we were so cautious in cruising around the exposed sections of the route to Alaska -- the ones we called the three dragons!! Yikes! ... with ketchup, yet

Pat and Fred,

I remember the Newark Dinner. One of the best "greasy spoons" It was a great breakfast.

I am sorry to see that you are selling your boat. I hope that you are replacing it. Are you keeping the Roadtrek? My goal after InnKeeping is to tow my C-Dory with a Roadtrek. With the price of gas up, the Roadtrek's should be less expensive.

Have a great cruise. I hope to get back there soon.

Fred

Hi to all,

We are in Brockport today. We have been as far west as Lockport and looked over all the improvements is the area near the big locks. We would have stayed another day ,but ,the only place is a small dock at the top of the locks. No water or any other services.

We then moved back to Middleport, a really nice stop. Good showers and a good dinner right on the canal.

Traffic seems to be a little less than in previous years. I guess the high price of fuel is keeping some boats tied to the dock. Plenty of Canadian boats-I think they like the exchange rate.

Last Saturday we moved to Albian. A neat little city with a nice downtown and good docks for boaters. All Free-water electric and Last Dance Terry and his friend Bonnie picked us up at the dock and took us to Middleport for dinner in a restaurant called the Basket Factory--Very Nice! Then we got a tour of the area and a trip to the spot on Lake Ontario that Terry launches to go fishing. We really had fun. Thanks to Terry and Bonnie. We even stopped for ice cream!

We just spent two nights in Holly, andther nice small town, with another good dinner and ice creame.

We will be in Fairport over the weekend after a stop at Spencerport. We have a good prospect for the boat in that area. We also plan to see Tom McCall a friend from our first C-Dory gathering several years ago.

El and Bill many people remember you and send theeir good wishes.

Dear Fred and Pat:

I'm glad you are having such a good time on your final trip in C-Trek...in our back yard! Apparently, the rains have not interfered much.

Blessings, Wayne
