Entry door key for 2002 22 foot C-Dory and Dinette brackets?

Two questions: I've lost one cabin entry key. I've tried getting the local lock smiths to make me extras but they say they can't get the blanks. I can't make out the manufacturer of the lock. Some thing like "www.mobella????" Does anyone know how to order a new key? I have the key number.

Next: My dinette table no longer stays securely in place. If you lean on ever outside edge it comes loose where it meets the boat side. It's a two piece bracket, two pieces on the table and two pieces on the boat. It appears that the pieces are worn and no longer stay in place properly. Does anyone know the manufacturer for replacement? Thanks, Mason
 
I searched the web and found boat keys made by Mobella. They had the correct key number and I was able to order. Yeah!

Still trying to figure out the dinette brackets though....
 
You hit it with the Mobella. On the dinette table brackets, I don't have them to hand right now to look at them, but some ideas:

1) The first thing I always do is check the "Sea Dog Line" website. I have found that much of the OEM C-Dory hardware is made by them (both cabin and deck).

2) Alternatively, many RV's (especially trailers) have that type of arrangement. Oftentimes not stainless though.

That said, I think the brackets just tend to do that so new ones may not solve the problem. I've seen a few good fixes here which you may be able to find in the archives/albums by searching. Pins to keep them in place, etc.
 
I think there have been several different types of table securing hardware over the years.

Perhaps you could post a photo or two of your set up to help others sort out the alternative solutions/repairs.

Mason, try bending the tabs on the table. It may be that with a little wear and stress, it's just a fit issue.
 
You're right about the variety of brackets. I also have a 2002, so we probably have the same ones. Basically, the table is attached to the "wall" (hull side) with two brackets (from which the table can lift out when you don't want it to), and then is additionally supported by a single folding leg centered on the inboard edge.
 
After leaving the door key to my 2002 C-22 in Lake Michigan, I had a replacement made at a local locksmith. He used a motorcycle key blank, shortened it and filed it to shape. It has worked perfectly ever since. I posted the details here on the web site, a search should turn it up. I think he charged me $12 and did it all while I waited. Hope you can have the same experience. Good luck.

I needed extra door keys for my 2000 22'.
My local locksmith made 4 keys in five minutes.
He had blanks on hand in store.
There is a brand name on the key blank "ILCO X258 USA".
Keys work fine and I now have plenty of spares.
 
I have a 2002 with table brackets. The wall bracket has a hole that the table bracket blade button fits into. If that matches your brackets the fix is simple. Often when you remove the table the outer edge gets raised bending the table bracket blades some. The solution is to lower the table with the table brackets still engaged in the wall brackets thus bending the table bracket blades to where they should be and thus allowing the buttons to securely lock in the wall bracket holes. Reset the table and lean on the outside corners; if the brackets hold your done, if not, repeat the bracket bending until the brackets hold. Simpler done than said.
