Electronic kicker throttle controls

At the C-brat gathering in Cathlamet, was given a preview of this great device by C-Dawg. For those who do not have their kicker hardwired to the helm in the cabin and do any trolling, this is a great improvement.

I got home, called the mfg, www.troll-masterpro.com , placed my order and just finished the installation. The mfg has kits set up for most models of 4 stroke kickers and they send you a CD that gives you directions and outboard specific photos.
As my 9.9 Honda has electronic ignition and tilt, the bracket did not place the servo in the right place. After drilling a hole in the bracket and adding some washers for alignment, the system works great.
The harness is long enough to reach the helm with 6-8 feet remaining. My installation uses this extra length to create a leash which can be velcro mounted near the helm or just inside the door.
The control box has an led screen, a dial and instant idle and full throttle buttons. These allow you to retain your troll speed in the same way cruise control does in your car.
For years, I got by with use of the throttle arm for speed and it was always a fight to get the speed adjusted just as desired. Those days are gone. I will use this device even when I have my kicker disconnected from the helm steering station.

Thanks for the tip C=Dawg.

They are a good little item. If and when the servo goes out, mine did after 2 seasons, go to your local hobby shop for a replacement servo. You can upgrade, and get a servo with metal gears and higher torque. And for not much more money. Any hobby shop that sells radio control stuff will be able to help you out.
