East coast earthquake

Just before 2 pm today, we felt an earthquake here in Maryland,
near Annapolis. Weird feeling and strange noise of cracking earth.
Evidently a 5.8 to 6.0 quake hit near Richmond, Va.
Thus was a first for me. Took a while to stop feeling like I was on a boat.
Hope all are OK.

Some damage near the epicenter in Mineral. We were at lunch outdoors at a local restaurant and I thought I was having a religious experience or bad sushi... :shock:

Nothing like the ones we felt in San Francisco or in Guatemala though! Much ado about nothing IMHO.

No one injured, some measurable damage though. A wake up call, it can happen anywhere... :wink:

The woman running our marina was worried about a Tsunami.... :roll: I reassured her that that was quite improbable!! She couldn't contact her kids in Western VA over land lines (Verizon, which is on strike, not unusual for phones not to work, much less customer service!!)

Not a religious experience, but maybe back in college.
It was weird, none the less. I was in my office and the floor never did
that before.
