e-bay 2005 26' Pro Angler C-Dory

My condolences to Brazo.

Tomorrow it gets a marine survey. A positive result gets it hooked up and towed to Washington state. This after several dollars change hands(the bad part). I will hook on to it there and head to Ninilchik, Alaska.(the fun part).

Nice boat. It looks like a C-DORY with a semi v hull. a narrower cabin that allows walk around capability. The boat is a lot bigger than a 22 and almost double the 16. And look at all the rod holders.

I am sure that vessel will be a fishing machine. Lucky guy Jack.

That sure is a good looking boat and very unique for a C-Dory with the semi-V hull. Wonder why they didn't make more?

I hope the survey goes well and you get many years of enjoyment out of her.

If the online ad above is correct, this boat is number 21 of a total of 21 built. So it would be interesting to get a line on the other 20, sort of like the 25 Cruise Ships. This boat, unlike the 25 Cruise Ship, must have been a custom order - the Pro Angler 26 was not at any boat show or on any website in 2005! Why didn't they make more? Well, I would guess that it is a boat that would have directly competed with the Skagit Orcas and possibly the Olympics that they were building, and C-Dory probably wanted to focus the C-Dory line and not canabalize the market for their other boat lines - just a guess of course.

Congrats! That certainly looks like one nice fishing boat -- it would be perfect for the Lake Michigan salmon fishing.

Enjoy.

Outstanding!!!
That is one sweet ride, I'm sure you will enjoy fishing and boating from that platform. Are you going to spend any time in Washington? I would love to see the boat if you are.

Should be a quiet road trip this time of year Jack, but watch out for the buffalo through the Yukon Territory and don’t forget to take a dip at Liard hot springs.

breausaw,

Thanks for the note. Yes the road should be pretty much to ourselves. This will be our 62nd trip over the Alaska Hyw. for us since 1963. I am glad the road isn't as it was back then.

I am thinking cardboard over the windshields and some blue tarps covering the front of the hull should protect it from the sand and grit flying up off the road.

Stop by this summer at MP 138.1 Sterling and take a look.

Jack

Jack,

62nd trip-wow-have made a few myself since 1967. I’ll be sure to stop by and have a look; we get down that way quite often in the summer. Might pull Triple J down for a June Halibut Cove weeding, but have a date with the Green island cabin 60 miles out of Whittier the following week.

I wrapped tarp up around the bow and that worked fine, Triple J came with a custom Sunbrella top so I towed her with that in place-worked out just fine. It’s nice there’s not much gravel to deal with anymore and this early you’ll probable miss most of the construction. Cardboard with green masking tape -think its semi waterproof- should protect your windows; I was going to use a couple of cheep foam camp pads if I didn’t put on the cover.

Installed one of those across the bumper rock guards that hangs for the rear bumper, sure it prevented a few nicks.
Good luck,

Jay

Jack,

Congrats on the purchase. At $40,500 you got a great deal. Do you tractor launch at Ninilchik? That is an adventure in itself. We chartered with the "Butt Chaser" Kevin, out of Ninilchik in 2002.

Congratulations Jack!

Great boat, great price! What a deal. I'm green with envy. If fishing were to be my primary use of the boat, that's the boat I'd want. :teeth

JT,
I looked into them several years ago. They were "rode hard and put away wet" although still servicable. They are old charter boats as is the one in Calif. of the same vintage and model still on the Brat for sale list..

The HIGH TIDE II is parked in my driveway in Anchorage all safe and sound. After 5600 miles in 10 days on Chinese trailer tires. Maybe they are not so bad after all.

Now for all of the "boat things" that need to be done before it hits the water. The first will be to buy a plug as it is missing.

The rub rail popped loose on one side so that needs attention.

I also need a kicker fore safety.

Meeting the several C-Brats along the way in Canada was fun. We are a "clicky bunch" for sure.

Thanks for all the encouragement and well wishes.
