Dinette Berth Question

Hi all-

I just purchased my 2nd 22' Cruiser. I am having an issue, I think, with the cushions on the dinette when it is converted into a bed. No matter how I put the 2 seat cushions and the 2 back cushions together for sleeping, there is about an 18 inch gap, the cushions do not make a complete bed. I did not have this problem with my older 22 foot cruiser. Am I missing a cushion? As I am not the original owner, I am not sure what it originally came with, but either I have them arranged wrong, or there is a cushion missing, which makes it quite uncomfortable for sleeping.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks-

Ben

My boat has an extra cushion that is meant for the reversible navigator's seat. Even using this additional cushion, there is still a gap in the arrangement of the cushions that makes sleeping on the dinette berth uncomfortable for some people.

Some owners (at least one) have had an additional cushion made to fill the gap so all the cushions fit snugly.

After one night of trying the dinette berth, we haven't used is since.

The 22's with the standard seat setup in the dinette cushions fit well. Those newer ones with the Barber seat (sliding front seat) will have a gap. I have seen a couple of boats where another cushion was needed to give complete coverage--as you have experienced.

I see your boat is a 2013. My boat is a 2016. Not sure of the differences, if any, but my boat came with two additional (larger) cushions for putting onto the table top to make the bed. If you bought your boat used, maybe the original owner forgot to give them to you - if they were like me, they never used them and so maybe just left them at home in the garage.

Thanks All. Sounds like I am not the only one with this issue. Looks like I will be having a new cushion made up to fill the gap.

Have had my boat for almost 12 years and the first time it was used for a bed, (the barber seat) I didn't set it up, someone else did, and I thought the cushions looked like a less than perfect fit, but figured it was do to the inexperience of the "doers".
