Hi folks,

My wife and I are going to be trailering our 16 down to Carrabelle in April - Marc's Wefings outfit is going to do some PM on our Suzuki 50, and then we plan to play for a week.

I've been to the area, but not with our boat - any recommendations for interesting day trips?

Thanks,

Chris

We enjoy running up the Apalachicola River. You can take the western jog on the Jackson River over to Lake Wimico, or keep going north on the Apalachicola. There is a jog off to the east on the St. Marks River (in theory you can cut back down the St. marks to Apalachicola Bay, but I won't try it in our 26V). We also like running east on the inside of St. George Island over to Dog Island. It is a nice trip along the barrier islands over to Carabelle. We love the Apalachicola area. Hope you enjoy your trip.

Just what I was going to say. You can take the Apalachicola River North as far as you want. The Jackson River is a good alternative.

I would also explore Dog Island and the Carrabelle/New River also. If the weather is good a trip around St George or Dog Island is fun . When you arrive Ill help assess the best opportunities with you .

From looking at the charts, I suppose the West end of the bay get's a lot more complex than the East end ...

Thanks folks - we're looking forward to it.
