Cruising the Gulf Coast and C-Dory shopping

Left Gulfport MS this morning in my 92 Whaler Montauk, the forecast called for fair skies all week. As I waited out the first Level 5 thunderstorms, I planned the rest of my trip.
Left Gulfport, sat out storms in Ocean Springs MS and ended up in Gulf Shores AL. At LuLu's having a few cocktails and drying out.

Planning to stop and meet a few generous C Brats that have offered to show me their boats and even use their dock or patio!

The Whaler is 17' with a Mariner 90 two smoke, runs beautiful and gives me about 5 mpg at 22 mph, 3200rpm. I have the full Wm. Mills canvas package, so it's very comfy at cruise, but in a torrential downpour, I still get wet.
I hope I can get about the same mpg with a CD22 and a modern engine, and be a little bit drier on rainy days.
Gotta love the Brats!, everyone I've talked to has been very helpful.

Good morning, Rob.
Nice jaunt from Gulfport to Gulf Shores! Congrats.
Only a short way to Perdido Key from Lulu's. Hope you are sleeping in
after a night there since I'm still in my skivies having coffee and I
usually don't think of a cold one till around noon.
I know. I'm an amateur.

My CD in just inside the "T" at the end of a dock, 2 docks
east of a collapsed dock with about 35' of mast sticking
out of the water at it's end. Can't miss it.
Help yourself to the end of the "T".

Regards,
Foggy

Thanks for the hospitality Marty! You have a beautiful Venture.
Really enjoyed lunch at the FloraBama, good grilled oysters!
Made it to Destin, I'll probably try to run all the way to Eastpoint tomorrow.
Gotta see a few more C Dory boats.

Thanks Rob and you are welcome.
Short visit was good and long enough to tell you'd
look better in a C-Dory.
Best regards.

Aye.

Got to Destin yesterday afternoon after having lunch with Foggy in Perdido Key. Slept on the boat at Harborwalk Marina. Since I lost a day to weather, I won't make it past Destin on this trip. Backtracking to Mississippi
today, I see a fine looking boat coming eastbound on the ICW. As it gets closer , I see its Marty on Cest si Bon.
C Brats everywhere.

Oh yea! A fine day for cruising the ICW around Orange Beach, AL.

So here we are east bound and I think I see a redfish on the water -
wait - it's not a redfish, it's Rob in his red canvased Whaler coming west.

Whoa, Rob. You definitely would look better in a C-Dory. I know where
you can get a 26 Venture. It's pricey but real nice...

Aye.

Marty,
$70,000 cash in non-sequential, well circulated bills is waiting for you! Just say the word and its a deal!
I'll even pick it up here in Florida so you don't have to drag it home.
Rob

Rob:

I love your sense of humor.

When you are serious and come to your senses,
get a hold of me.

Aye.

PS: Might we work out the "delta" on some travel
destinations?
