Crab/Prawn/Salmon fishing Desolation sound June - August

Capital Sea

As Capital Sea attempts to select the utopian two weeks for our trip in Northern waters later this year a substantial consideration involves the timing in terms of food we can find along the way.
My understanding is that crab are easy regardless of where in the 6-8th month we are. Is the same true for prawns?

I expect Salmon are the real issue. So for those who know the runs and times/places to aim for based on recent years, please pass on your wisdom.
As always thanks for your help

I have found that this site is one of the better ones for The areas you are going to. several of the top posters are guides, but they dont make a point about it and several try to keep their job title out of the board all together. When I was getting ready a few years ago to do my Ucky trip they were helpful and polite. http://www.bcfishingreports.com/forum/

I would go in early August. Coho start to peak in the ocean waters in early August and crab and shrimp can be found all year long (assuming the season is open there which I'm pretty sure it is). August is far and away the most reliable in terms of weather. Usually calm in the ocean and sunny.
