I'm looking for a cover to protect my Alaska Series dingy from the sun. Would appreciate leads to any likely places. I started with Clavey and Cabelas but was not able to find anything suitable. I want to avoid the expense of a custom cover. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Warren

I keep my Alaska series in the shop when not in use.......it doesn't fill up with rain that way.

No kidding! But UV radiation knows no seasonal limits!

Consider making it yourself. A dingy cover is easy to make, using Sunbrella. Most sewing machines can sew at least two layers, and that is adequate. On line dealers like "Sail Rite" have all of the material and thread that you need. You will want to use specialized needles, and the dacron, monofiliment or gortex thread; not home thread.
Great winter project!

Warren,
UV and bird droppings !!
Not to mention other critters which love to eat shellfish

I'm looking too. These guys seem to have a nice selection of reasonably priced covers. They even sent some swatches to help me select a color.

What kind of inflatable are you covering?

Should have waited a few hours for your post after finding the Inflatable Boatworks cover, which only comes in grey. Oh well, my canvas will be grey (to match my upholstery), so it all works out in the end...

I know several people bought the alaska series boats at the SBS. I am still thinking about replacing my dinghy.

I would like to get some feedback about the pros/cons after using them for awhile. Do you like the size you have? Is it easy enough to get on the cabin top? Have you towed it?

Thanks,
Steve
