just bought a 92 22' cruiser that needs a bit of help. Motors are newer and strong, lots of cleaning and then lots more. One thing i want to do is replace the solid wood back door with one of the glass ones i see on the newer models. Is this possible? Any suggestions where to look? I am located just out of bellingham. Also have noticed some boats with a chrome or maybe there polished S.S. rack that mounts across the cabin towards the back. Looks like this is something that may have been designed to mount electronics on, appears to be factory option but not entirely sure. Any ideas where to find one?

Welcome to the C-Brats D.O.I.,
It sounds to me that you are describing the radar arches that many of our vessels have installed. These are for the radar arrays, VHF radio antennas, scene lights, GPS antennas and anything else that is handy to mount there. Don't know if the new factory carries any of them in stock, but there are several manufacturers of these. The one that most readily comes to mind is Railmakers, which is a business located in Everett, Wa. Since you are near Bellingham, you are fortunate to be very near the new factory which is visible from I-5 in Ferndale.
Hope this is a help to you.

The door may be hard. Triton, the current mfr, does custom boat work, may pay to bring it there and let the pros do it.

Congratulations on your purchase and welcome to the family. The door is available through Diamond Sea Glaze, their phone number is 800-770-0455 and our contact there is Kim Parley. Pooderbuilt who is a local Whatcom County man can do the stainless fab for you or at least quote you. His number is 360-380-1010, if you have any further questions please don't hesitate to contact me directly at 360-393-3283.

posted yesterday evening, "looking for help" incredible informative responses. This is going to be fun, thank you to all for your responses. :D

It has been said before, you just didn't buy a boat, you bought into a family. And you are in a great spot to enjoy your boat.

The doors that are put on the newer 22's will probably not quite fit the opening on 1992 22' cruiser. Take some careful measurements before you place an order. I suspect you may wind up either doing some fiberglass work to get a stock door to fit or ordering a custom (and more expensive) door.
