Cool tool

My brother in law is a mechanic, and always has his eye out for cool tools. He just got me something called a ClampTite for Christmas - and it looks to be pretty slick. Very simply to use, and can secure/fasten a wide range of things in a snap - I can think of a ton of uses for it on the boat, and it takes up very little space. Think I'l pick up another one for the motorcycle...

Here's the manufacturer's web site. And, here's a boating supply place that sells them, along with a page showing some possible uses along with instructions.

Great tool indeed. I've owned one for about ten years and have used it mainly for emergency hose clamp repairs (works like a champ with stainless wire).

Yea, they can be pretty handy. I've owned one for several years (bought it at the Annapolis boat show as I recall), and have used it a few times.

With a role of stainless wire you can wrap or secure just about anything one way or another - and it stays tight.

I glued and wired a small jewelers hammer handle (I couldn't find the correct size to replace the handle) several years ago and it's still working fine.

Buy it - toss it in the tool bag!

Best,
Casey

Thanks for the tip! Just ordered one...it will be great for the boat, and whenever we hit the road. This could make something otherwise difficult a relative non-event.

The "How To" videos really showed how easy it works.

Thanks again.

I've seen these demonstrated, but was always a little bit skeptical that it was one of those trade show gimmicks. You know, the sort of thing you find in the "Modern Living" pavilion at the fair?

Good to hear from folks who actually own and use one. I may pick one up after all! If it works, it's a definite Navagear feature.
