Compusa has a list of stores closing.

This is obviously due to the resurgence of Macs!

CompUSA was one of the few box stores that sold Macs before Apple started selling direct years ago. Most of them even had a "Mac section." Guess they just couldn't compete with the Best Buy type places and on-line retailers. One less option now.

Best wishes,
Jim B. (Mac user since 1984, and an Apple IIe before that  )

I agree ...looks like they are reducing their retail footprint. I hope they beef up their web site to compete with Ecost, Newgg,...

Anyone running a Mac Dual Core notebook? Comments?

I just use my G3 iBook for airline travel to watch movies, internet and word processing.

Anyone have an older copy of Mac Filemaker for sale?

I have a Mac Pro and a TiBook. Expecting to get a Mac Pro notebook when Leopard comes out.

I have a copy of FM Developer 6. It is not upgradeable to the current version. I am trying to decide if I should buy 8.5. If I do, I can sell you my 6, if you want it. Send me a PM with what you feel it is worth.

I had to buy a Macbook Pro when my G4 Titanium started to crap out. I don't see a big difference with the Duo Core, and the new Mac doesn't have a PCMCIA slot - just the new (improved, read: you have to buy new stuff to fit it) ExpressCard 34 slot. Keep in mind, I used my G4 for work and travel and got a LOT of use out of it... certainly got my money's worth. Someday I may try Parallel to run a Windoze program if I feel I'm getting low on my frustration levels.

Like most Mac machines, this new laptop is well thought out, easy to use, and very functional. As PCs and Mac get closer to the same, I still give the edge to the Mac.

My 2¢... but I am very biased towards Macs; I also think C-Dorys are the best trailerable powerboats, trimaran sailboats are great, and classy catboats should be at everyones' docks; cats are easier on a boat than dogs; warm is better than cold (except for ice cream); laughing is better than frumping. Oh, and retirement is pretty cool, with the only downsides being no anticipation for the weekend and if you want to buy a major toy, you have to think about what that's going to do to your "what if I live past next year" account.

Is the G4Ti repairable? I bought used MACs b/c the seller left all of the software installed. The hardware is cheap but the software is still pricey.

I bought an Turion x2 with 2G RAM for a XMAS gift and it is fasssssssssssst under XP. Havenot upgraded to Vista.

Sounds like you know the answer to the hardest math problem, too.

Taking time to count your blessings.
