compass relocation

I acquired a Garmin 3010C chart plotter. it has a 10 in screen. I was wondering where ya'll with 25 cd's place the compass. with the large screen I will have to move the one that is mounted directly in front of the helm to a new location.

Roger I had the same problem with my cc-23 I mounted a Garmin 498 chartplotter right where the compass was . So I moved the compass over about 6-7 inches from Garmin . I could not mount it in front of the open window because I slide my A/c unit there when im at a marina . The only problem is the compass needs adjustments it is to close to fan,wipers and Garmin so it's about 10 degrees off So I must compesate for that .

You can just see the top of my compass to the left of and below the chart plotter. I don't seem to have any interference between the Azmuth 1000 or compass with the chart plotter.

Looking at Anna Leigh's photo above, what about mounting to the window "pillar" to the right of the center window? Glue a wood mounting block there and screw on the compass. That would provide a little more isolation from electronics and also put it more in your forward line of sight. You'd need a vertical mount compass, though. Just a thought.
