I've not been able to locate the aluminum rubrail used for the 22-Classic. Taco Marine has one that's close, but it is built for more of an overhang between the top and the hull. I'd like to match the new to the old rather than replace the whole thing. Anyone know who made the original that C-Dory used?

Thanks,

Tom Herrick

Contact Buck at Tern Boat Salvage (where Dave and Ben are working on their Marinaut 205). I know he had some end caps. He also might have some rub rail left too. I believe that type of rub rail has been discontinued. Tern's phone number is 253-946-9916.

I'm leaning toward making my own rubrail out of some old-growth white oak. I have a boatload of it stored in a barn. I can rout a dovetail groove for a rubber insert to protect the rubrail from light bangs and to hide the through-bolts.

Thanks for the Tern Boat Salvage contact info though. I'd seen a few posts regarding the new occupant in Auburn but hadn't thought of them for rubrail. If I lived a couple thousand miles closer I might pop by.
