CINCO DE MAYO is celebrated every year on May 5th but how many of you know that it's really a maritime story that began because of an event which happened a few hundred years ago. The Spanish had subjected the Mexicans to a harsh and cruel existence....BUT when they tried to force mayonaisse on the people they revolted and sunk the Spanish ship in the harbor that was loaded with mayonaisse. Mexicans have been celebrating SINK-O-DEE-MAYO ever since. To this very day you will not find mayonaisse on a taco.
