After I finished unwinterizing the water system, my First Mate and I cruised about the Lynnhaven and Lower Chesapeake Bay area and came across the replica of Capt. John Smith's Shallop sailing off the Va. Beach coast. Pixs of this sailboat is within Sea Angels Album, pg 3 of 3. Sorry I don't know how to attach them to this mail.
The 400th Anniversary of the Jamestown settlement activities will go thru May, so the Right Coast will have a very busy James River and Ches. Bay thru June (7-12) when some 25 Tall ships will converge on Norfolk Harbor for Harborfest.
The 400th anniversary of the English settlers will begin on Thursday, 26 April 2007. Replicas of the Susan B. Constant, the Discovery and the Godspeed will be present. These English settlers landed at Cape Henry on this day before traveling four days later up the Ches. Bay to what is now known as Jamestown. Before sailing to Jamestown they raised a cross to claim the land for God and King James.
If anyone is planning on trying to come to this area for any of the events, I have limited storage at my house for a trailer (2 - if I put one on the front lawn), but you C-Brats are most welcome. Ramps are a plenty with a city ramp beside the Lynnhaven Inlet Bridge ( abt 12 miles away). Alma's Only has used this before on last years trip to the gathering.
Sorry I did not get this info out earlier so you folks could have planned better. There is so much to see and places to travel from almost anywhere on this Bay. Come and enjoy the RIGHT COAST wit us pooor locals.
