Center window gasket

The rubber gasket on the stationary portion of the center window pealed off in one piece, when I opened the window today. Any suggestions on which adhesive would work best to re-attach the rubber gasket to the metal window frame?

There may be something better, but if it were me I think I would try one of the following 3M products (me being me, I'd have to compare them in a bit more detail, but I did a quick check).

3M 03602 (super weatherstrip adhesive).

3M 08001 (super weatherstrip adhesive).

3M 08008 (weatherstrip and gasket adhesive).

3M 08011 (weatherstrip adhesive).

On cursory reading, the first two sound the best as they specifically mention bonding rubber to metal, and less about gasket materials such as cork and paper. The first one, 03602 sounds heavier duty, if I'm interpreting correctly. On the other hand, the second one, 08001, is yellow as opposed to black, if that matters.

The 3-M super in black will work just fine. Remember it is contact adhesive so if you put a bead on the window or frame put the gasket on press it down good, pull it off & wait until your finger will not stick to the glue, then carefully install the seal / gasket. If you wipe the window / door seal with spray silicone (scotchguard) they will not stick to the frame when closed for long periods of time. :wink: :lol:
