Cell phones on the road

[Sneaks]

An Oregon driver reminded me again that not a day goes by without seeing at least one erratic driver on the road with a cell phone jammed in the left ear. Equal opportunity exists in that arena too - but I do have to say that the numbers in my private SoCal poll ended up sexist.

Actually, while I don't use the cell phone while I'm driving my car, I do use it on Shasta Lake where NOBODY monitors VHF, CB, or anything else so that cell phones are used to call marinas, the Sheriff's Department, the Highway Patrol, and everybody else with a cell phone, but ONLY if you know their number (except for 911 stuff). Unfortunately, there are some dead spots without service in parts of the lake shielded from the antennas along I-5. But it's the ONLY game in town! Joe
