As if web security wasn't already a challenge, this week an exploit called "Heartbleed" was exposed that essentially breaks the security used by two-thirds of the internet. What's worse, it's undetectable and simply patching website software isn't enough - new certificates need to be issued and old ones revoked, passwords changes, etc.

One might want to wait a few days before logging into a secure website (bank etc). The internet is big so the odds are low you'll be hit, it's just that you may not be able to trust the security until all this is sorted out.

Oy... sometimes one longs for the old days.

Sounds like this thing is real. Just checked with my provider. Time to check the banking stuff then go through the rest. Hope the nerds are checking this site out.

This is why I never, but never, expose my bank account to the internet. A credit card, yes... A debit, or online banking, never.
