Cape Cruiser ?

Hi everyone ! Larry and I went to Oriental this passed weekend to see some friends. While Larry was gone fishing and I was waiting to meet a friend for lunch I spotted what I thought was a C-Dory. Turned out to be a "Cape Cruiser" . I'm sure you all have seen and heard of them but I haven't. Just wondering how many are out there and if we have any owners here on the site ? This one looked to be 26' Green and White with a green bimini . I took photos so I could show them to Larry later.. lol Didn't want him to think I was seeing things before I had my morning coffee ! :shock: Take care all ! Tracy

Cape Cruiser boats in 23 and 26 ft were designed by Ben Toland of the Toland family that designed the C-Dorys.

About 50 boats were built and sold by the Cape Cruiser company. The company was sued by C-Dory and lost the lawsuit and the boat molds to C-Dory. The Cape Cruiser Company is now out of business.

C-Dory now builds the 23 and 26 calling them the Venture line.

Thanks.. I have had a "few" emails explaining this boat to me. I was just interested cause it looked like our boat. I hadn't never seen one before.Then I got curious as to how many they made and where they were.. Thanks for all the information from everyone.. Take care, Tracy 8)
