I love C-BRATS, and this place is full of some really neat, special, talented, helpful people who have such varied backgrounds, professions, opinions and resources it amazes me how well we get along, on so many subjects. With so much variety in members it is not surprising to have considerable variety in opinions. It is admirable in how well we get along. I would raft with anyone on this site, anytime.
I don't often participate in political debates, not that I don't care, (I vote so I have the right to complain about politicians, maybe express is a better word), it is knowing that it is my opinion and may not matter to others.
I was thinking that this thread should be in the "That's Life" forum, but looking back through this thread, it is pretty evident that the one rule has been pretty well applied, and that there are many who have held back, for what ever reason. I tend to agree that maybe it's OK for it to stand as a showcase of how our diversity is not divisive. I have been on this site for quite a while and it is my "Go To Place". WE express, discus, differ, defend, digress and still get along. Politics and religion are two very personal issues where we all are right, according to us. There are places, times and subjects on which we might disagree, but we seem to all agree, this place is where we can come because we trust and respect each other and our differences.
CBRATS is a great place, and so is America, and our Canadian friends accepted -- we love you too. You have the right to have your opinion, and to share it and defend it. AND we have the moral obligation to respect each other and those rights. So, Thanks for sharing and caring, and beefing and boating, AND getting along. Agreeing to disagree. We still have commonalities. Our love for our boats and for the water, in however we use it.
