Had a friend call me tonight from Quest Field's neighboring Safeco Field asking why there were 4-5 C-Dorys being moved into a secured area at Quest Field. Anyone have an answer?

I got this in an email last week....

Dear Boaters,
I'm excited to announce we are organizing our first ever Summer Sale this weekend at Qwest Field in Seattle. This is the same location for the indoor portion of the January Seattle Boat Show. We have rented part of the North Parking lot and by Friday morning, it will be filled with more than 200 new and used trailerable boats by 50 different dealers. Brands on sale include: Bayliner, Sea Ray, Mastercraft, Glastron, Alumaweld, Campion, Crowneline, Trophy and more!
It has been a difficult summer for boat dealers in our region and they are motivated to sell. One dealer has reported discounts as much as 30 percent from the suggested retail price! If your family is looking to purchase a boat for the first time or move up to a larger boat - this is a perfect opportunity to come shop, compare and buy. Many dealers have promised to let buyers take possession right on the spot so buyers can be out on the water this very weekend. Financing and insurance options will be on site as well.
The dates are August 8-10, this Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM. Buyers will also take home a $200 gift card from West Marine with a purchase of a boat of $5,000 or more, plus a free one-year membership from BoatU.S. and 20% off an unlimited towing package. Details, including a complete exhibitor list and driving directions are at www.seattleboatshow.com.

David,
I'll bet you thought that there was a C-Brat Gathering that no one had heard about...... :wink .

Just returned from the Qwest Field summer boat sale and saw an interesting collection of trailerable boats for sale. Only two C-Dories are on the lot. Master Marine has the 22' C-Dory center console on display. Lake Union Sea-Ray has a 19' angler on display. While technically not a C-Dory, King Salmon Marine of Auburn has a 26' Cape Cruiser on display.

The parking lot is filled with the "usual suspects"; Arima, North River, Smokercraft, Bayliner, Boston Whaler, Skagit Orca, Sea Ray, Defiance, etc. Rob Johnson was running the Master Marine booth, and Rich Finlay was present. Had a nice chat with both of them. I left my checkbook at home under the watchful eye of my wife.

Best regards,
Leo

I was told (but you know how that goes), that the 19 is the last one that LUSR has. It comes with a 75 Merc, EZ Loader single axel trailer, drop curtain, anchor deck pipe, grab rails inside, electric wiper, and trim tabs for $29,731. That price was for the sale period that had an open ended end date, so not sure if it still has that price. It is a 2007 and is green. If you want a 19, I think that it is a good deal.

Thanks!!!!!!!

Have been lurking around this site for the last six months ever since I saw a C-dory at the winter boat show and fell in love. I missed out on the boat show priced one, and had been regretting that moment of indecision ever since. Daily I looked at the front page here for the newest listings, both by brats selling theirs on the home page, as well as those that had been spotted and listed in 'All Dorys, All The Time'.

I really wanted twin engines, having once drifted all night across the Long Island Sound in big waves due to engine failure. (Yes, I know that today's EFI engines are more reliable. Yes, I have read the posts on one versus two engines and logically understand that if both props are down that they will hit the same log, and that fuel will run out at the same time, etc, but emotions are not logical.) The problem with wanting a 25 and twin engines is that it eliminated many solid, reliable, and affordable boats from the list. I took to searching Craigslist using the Google advanced search, which allowed me to see all C-dory listings posted to Craigslist anywhere, and even seriously considered buying one that is for sale on the east coast and towing it back to California. Having just helped my nephew move cross country I was painfully aware of just how large our country is.

Then, a few weeks back my dad and I were up in Bremerton, WA for the USS Turner Joy reunion (DD-951). When we planned the trip, last fall, he was going to spend the Sunday after the reunion with a shipmate who lived in Redmond. Unfortunately, the friend died earlier this year. Because of the increases in airfare and the penalties for changing tickets I decided just to find something to do for the day, rather then change the reservation, but had not yet decided on anything. (Although the Jefferson County fair looked promising.)

At night, before going to bed, I checked the C-Brats website as was my custom and I noticed a thread with a caption that read 'C-Dorys at Seattle's Quest Field'. It was a long shot, but given that this is C-Dory's backyard and that there are several major dealers in the area I decided to try my luck. We forgot about the fair and went to the show.

I think the dealer was surprised by how fast the deal went from hello to sold. This time around I knew better then to delay when presented with the deal I wanted, however I would not have found that opportunity without the selfless act of four people who already had boats, but nonetheless took the time to post some very helpful advice for those still looking.

Thank you very much.

Great boat ! Congratulations ! The twins make good sense on that piece of coastline . I have bounced around off Ano Nuevo Island and Davenport close to the surfline fishing Halibut and Rockfish alot in my pre Florida days , and that is somewhere I would want em too . Those rocks are hard ! And the beaches are few and far between .A kicker is good but twins are better .
