C-Dory shirt order...what color and what size ?

In fairness, it should be noted that we did not ask Joel to cancel this order, or the burgee order. I asked only that he not start any more sales threads on the forum; and I asked privately and politely. While we would have preferred this type of thread hadn't been started, if we really wanted it stopped it could have been deleted.

Personally, I think Joel's idea of a C-Dory Ship's Store is a great one, and we would be happy to link to such a store if it were hosted on another site. But pages and pages of merchandise ordering posts are not something Bill and I are comfortable with.

This thing has gotten off track......I really thought I was doing something that was good....I totally did not mean to make Tyboo or Bill out to be the bad guys..... we just did not completely get on the same page

One thing I don't understand is why hat orders were permitted a year or two ago? And more recently, an order for lazarette covers. How is the T-Shirt order different?

Warren -

1) Single time, no profit, and uniquely focused sales are one thing. An expanding full out store is quite another. There are thousands of places on the web you can find them. This site is not one of them.

2) There have long been plans, and the plans will remain such for another year yet, for a store of sorts to offer C-Brat specific items. That will be a separate page on the web and not ran through the discussion boards. Therefore, and before it is even suggested, we are not inclined to set up a similar service for other merchandise sales.

3) Nobody said that the T-Shirt sale was not allowed or had to be cancelled. We only asked that it not evolve to the scale described in this post.

4) The only reason we did not stop the shirt and burgee sales is because we did not want to come across as bad guys once they took off. And the only reason we did not prevent them from appearing on the board in the first place is because we did not realize that was the plan. Also, we did not want to have to explain something for which we owe no explanation.

5) Regardless - if folks want us to be the bad guys, so be it.
