I think I saw the C-Dory Gillnetter mentined in the brochure today. It's parked high up on the Anchorage hillside on a trailer and looks ready to go.

Tom-

We've seen this boat before. There was only one of them made, and I think it was referred to as a "Bow Picker".

The front of the boat has a door that lowers to deploy and retrieve fishing nets.

I'll try to find the other picture we have of it in the Archives.

Nice seeing you at the Seattle Boat Show again!

Joe.

I can't seem to find the photo of the 1983 C-Dory Brochure, but a little reading reveals there was only one Bow Picker ever built, in 1983, and it was listed for $18,180 in the brochure.

Maybe someone else knows in whose album the photo is. I thought it was in either the Nancy H (Larry H) or maybe the High Tide (Jack in Alaska) album, but no :cigar :sad .

Joe.

Joe,

I also call it a bowpicker but the brochure referred to it as a gillnetter which is probably also true. A bow picker has a blunt nose over the v-bow where there is a roller assembly. The gillnets are pulled in over the roller. If you PM me your e-mail address I'll send you the hi res version (3 MB) and you can see the roller assembly.

Now that is a cockpit. I guess you just take the cockpit of two CD-22 Anglers, a little cut-n-paste/glue and glass action.... and bingo!!

I like it.... Now... on the CD25, does the hull forever get smaller as it gets to the stern????? or.... does it finally "square off"??? Just think if you had a CD25 with about 3 times as long of a cockpit. That would be a real neat boat....

NOW... LOOK AT HOW MUCH BETTER THE BOAT HELD UP THAN THE CAR!!!

DOES THIS SAY SOMETHING ABOUT BUILDING IT RIGHT THE 1ST TIME?
THAT IS WHY A LOT OF US FELL IN LOVE WITH C-DORY BOATS... IT IS NOT BECAUSE THEY WERE A NEW BOAT....IT IS BECAUSE THEY WERE AN OLD BOAT, BUT AS STRONG OR STRONGER THAN A NEW BOAT...

WHAT A NOVEL IDEA....BUILD A TUFF BOAT :thup :thup

I showed the picture of the C-Dory gillnetter to my husband. He said, "Wow, I really like that truck!" :crook :crook Robbi

Well, I guess we have found Oldgrowth his next project...
