C-Dory Bimini

Hello,

New C-Brat and new owner of a 22 Cruiser. Thanks for having us. Can anyone tell me the best way/place to look at/buy a C-dory custom bimini?

Welcome aboard!

We initially had the King Marine canvas, but later had a Bimini custom made and are glad that we did. Ours extends all the way to the transom, which provides more protection from both sun and rain. It also has much higher headroom and allows for better air flow either underway or when stationary. A few other Brats have copied what our canvas guy did for us. Pics in the first two pages of our album.

Hope this helps.

You can also buy an "off the rack" bimini made by folks like Taylor from most marine places. We put one on our 22 and it was fine although the frame is light aluminum, it gave us the shade and protection we needed at a cheaper cost than the heavier stainless. I recently replaced our aluminum one on the TomCat with heavier 1" stainless and a new "skin" that I bought on sale. A lot more sturdy.

King Canvas patterns only go back to 1990, i checked them out about canvas for my boat.
You will need canvas protection from Lake Superior Giant Mosquito's if you ever go there. Tug

Oyster Creek Canvas in Bellingham did mine. Did a good job at a fair price for custom work. Photos in my album.

I believe they did Les Lampman's hull #001 Marinaut as well.

Great pic
thanks
I will use it in my next parasitology talk

Great,

Thanks for the insight. I think we will take the advice and go "topless" for a while and see what we need and want/get ideas. Bu.t we will know where to begin our search when we decide to customize the Hawkeye.
