C-Dory all around light

The stock C-22 uses a Perko plug in all-around light with the base on the forward brow. The base also serves as a mounting point for the horns. Unfortunately, with a radome installed on a 5" mount, the top of the "all-around" light is almost exactly even with the top of the radome, thus the light pole needs about 5-6" height extension to become "all-around" again or I assume a separate stern light would be needed to comply with CG regs.

I've scoured the catalogs and the web, and it appears Perko does not make a longer version using the same screw down base. One solution would be to simply buy a radome mount all-around light and wire it in, another might be to install a regulation stern light. So what say you folk with radars? How did you solve the light problem? I hate having to basically throw away an $85 all around light just because it's a little short. Anybody ever fabricate an extension for the light?

We are in the same boat... er situation. Mike, of Mar T, was pointing this fact out at Jarrell Cove. Not sure what we will do yet. We will be watching this post.

I wonder if they mount the anchor light on the radar arch if the arch is factory installed...have to go look at the new Laurna Jo, we will have time to have C-Dory do that I guess...

Pat, We should have two mountings. One at the usual place on the visor and one on the arch. Both electrically "hot". I had the option of not having the one on the visor but elected to go with both for redundancy. Will use the arch, but if for some reason it is rendered useless, ie "opps didn't think that bridge was that low", can always use the forward one.

New 30" Perko 1209-DP2 arrived yesterday. Perfectimundo. 6" longer than the Perko 1209-DP1 that comes stock, it nicely clears the radome with a couple of inches to spare.
