The stock C-22 uses a Perko plug in all-around light with the base on the forward brow. The base also serves as a mounting point for the horns. Unfortunately, with a radome installed on a 5" mount, the top of the "all-around" light is almost exactly even with the top of the radome, thus the light pole needs about 5-6" height extension to become "all-around" again or I assume a separate stern light would be needed to comply with CG regs.
I've scoured the catalogs and the web, and it appears Perko does not make a longer version using the same screw down base. One solution would be to simply buy a radome mount all-around light and wire it in, another might be to install a regulation stern light. So what say you folk with radars? How did you solve the light problem? I hate having to basically throw away an $85 all around light just because it's a little short. Anybody ever fabricate an extension for the light?
