In case anyone noticed, I changed my username to Jazzmanic. Why? Mostly because I thought it was pretty unimaginative of me to have my user name be the same as the boat name. Plus, I'm a jazz musician with a jazz band and have always loved jazz music.

I just thought I'd spice up the name is all. And no, we're not getting a new boat in case that's what you were thinking. :teeth
 
Cool - I noticed this earlier today and was wondering if Caryn had created a new user name for herself. You realize that now you will be expected to bring an instrument and perform at future C-brat gatherings.... :note :note :note

The spousal unit and I frequent Tula's and Jazz Alley, if that tells you anything!

Warren, yeah Tula's and Jazz Alley are great places to go to listen to Jazz. I go to Jazz Alley at least once a year but it is a bit pricey. As for my music, I consider it "Contempory" not "Smooth" Jazz and certainly not straight-ahead like they play in the clubs you mentioned. Still, I'm lucky to be playing with some very talented musicians and we've got a really good sound. I guess I play "avocationally", (good word, I don't think I've heard that before) just on the side for fun although we do get paid. We play mostly at Jubilante Restaurant in Renton. If anyone's interested PM me and I'll put you on our mailing list. Of course, I put my music on hold until after the boating season. :thup

Peter, how do you do that, since it is always boating season around here?... :wink ...that being said, I'll echo what was previously said that you'll have to bring your music with you to the gatherings.. :thup
 
Ok, ok, I play the keyboards. They're not as easy to tote around as a guitar. But if there's a piano around, I could play a song or two. :lol: :note :note :note
 
I have an electric keyboard that will easily fit in the boat. Almost full size keys, just missing an octave or two to keep the size down. I may have to bring it with to the next gathering so you won't have any excuses... :wink: :lol:
